World Trade Forum 2009

Making decisions at the World Trade Organization: Past, Present and Beyond Doha

The World Trade Forum 2009 was entitled "Making Decisions at the World Trade Organization: Past, Present and Beyond Doha". It took place on 25-26 September 2009 at the World Trade Insitute in Berne. The Forum brought together scholars and practitioners to reflect on the challenges of the current system of multilateral trade governance. The Forum took stock of the functioning of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and discussed reform options for the near future. In addition, contibutions on other global economic multilaterals, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank (WB) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) have broadened the conference's focus by putting the WTO into a comparative perspective.
