Lisa Salcedo-Pfeiffer joined the WP4 team of the NCCR Trade Regulation in February 2010 as a doctoral research fellow. Her PhD thesis in law and political science will be conducted jointly at the Universities of Bern and Montpellier 1. It will examine the role of temporary labour migration within France and Spain’s new bilateral migration agreements.
Lisa is French and Ecuadorian by nationality and followed a multidisciplinary education. Besides her Postgraduate Master degree with honours in International Cooperation, Humanitarian Action and Development Policies from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Lisa holds university degrees in Political Science (International Relations), International and European Law and Foreign Languages from the Universities of Paris 1 and Montpellier 1 & 3 (France).
Before joining the NCCR Trade Regulation, Lisa worked at the GIP International (cooperation agency of the French Ministry of Labour) as the communication officer of the project “Partnership for the management of labour migration EU - Benin, Cameroon, Mali & Senegal”. Previously, she completed an internship at the French Ministry of Immigration and wrote her graduate thesis based on this practical experience. She analysed the agreements on joint management of immigration flows and partnership development as a new tool of the French immigration policy serving the Global Approach to Migration, i.e. encompassing all the dimensions of the migration phenomenon (regular migration, irregular migration and development).
