Kateryna Holzer joined NCCR Trade Regulation as an affiliate in 2007 after graduating from MILE 6. As a Candidate of Economic Science she served as Vice Dean at the Ukrainian Academy of Foreign Trade. Lecturing in Strategic Management, she coauthored Interactive Methods of Teaching Business Disciplines (Kiev 2004), approved by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine as a teaching reference book. Apart from the Candidate of Science degree (dissertation title: Management of Automobile Industry Enterprises of Ukraine under Protectionism, Kiev 2003), she holds a PhD in Law from the University of Bern (2012), a Master of International Management from the Ukrainian Academy of Foreign Trade (1999) and a Bachelor of Economics from the National University of Kiev-Mohyla Academy (1997). From 2009 to 2012, she was a doctoral fellow under the NCCR Climate project examining the issue of consistency of carbon-related border adjustment measures with WTO law. Currently with NCCR Trade Regulation as a post-doc researcher, her area of research includes the interface of trade and climate policies with emphasis on trade-related climate policy instruments and their WTO compliance, as well as climate policy initiatives undertaken under RTAs and sectoral agreements.
