Since 2010 Sascha works within the scientific coordination and communications of the NCCR Trade Regulation. As the Scientific Coordinator he is mainly responsible for the NCCR reporting, Global Series coordination, Brown Bag Lectures and Alumni Relations of the WTI. Sascha is German and holds a Doctor in Geography from the University of Bern. Besides the combined study of economy and geography at the University of Bayreuth, Germany, he also studied African Development Studies in Geography. Before joining the NCCR Trade Regulation, Sascha worked at the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) in Zambia, where he was involved in the Water Reform Sector. Previously, he completed an internship at the NGO Deutsche Welthungerhilfe in Ethiopia and wrote his graduate thesis based on this practical experience. He analysed the cooperation and conflict between development actors in the region of Ziway Dugda. Since 2014 Sascha has been a board member of the Swiss Network of Young Migration Scholars.
