Antoni Estevadeordal is a Principal Trade Economist with the Integration, Trade and Hemispheric Issues Division within the Integration and Regional Programs Department of the Inter-American Development Bank, in Washington D.C. He has been involved in numerous activities as a researcher and project team leader in the areas of trade, regional integration and cooperation and institutional modernisation in Latin America and the Caribbean region. He has coordinated the IADB technical assistance to the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) process from 1995 to 1999. Since 1999 is coordinator of studies in Integration, Trade and Hemispheric Issues Division. Prior to joining the IADB, Mr. Estevadeordal taught at the University of Barcelona and Harvard University. His fields of expertise include trade and investment policies and regional integration and cooperation agreements related to Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia-Pacific region, EU, NAFTA, FTAA and GATT/WTO. He has published widely in major journals, contributed as author in several books and edited (with Carolyn Robert) Las Americas sin Barreras (IDB, 2001). Mr. Estevadeordal was born in Barcelona (Spain) and holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Harvard University and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Barcelona.
