Maria Anna Corvaglia joined the NCCR/WP1 as a doctoral candidate in October 2010. Her PhD research, supervised by Prof. Christine Kaufmann (Faculty of Law, University of Zurich), focuses on the legal and economic implications of the inclusion of social policies in public procurement practices. Before joining the NCCR, Maria Anna Corvaglia interned at the Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation (ITTC) at the WTO, and worked as a consultant at the Department of Economic Growth and Trade of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) in Rome. She was involved in various technical assistance and training programmes, related to the development dimension of the multilateral trading system. Maria Anna Corvaglia obtained a magna cum laude Master degree on completion of the Master in International Law and Economics (MILE Programme) of the World Trade Institute, University of Bern. She also holds a Master degree in political science (with specialization in international relations) from the LUISS University of Rome, where she also worked as a research assistant in Public International Law. Maria Anna Corvaglia’s latest research addresses South−South technology transfer in the context of climate change mitigation, as well as rules for international energy trade.
