Aida Dolotbaeva joined the WTI in 2005 as research fellow on NCCR IP9 after completing her LLM degree in intellectual property law at the University of Turin, Italy. She also holds a master’s degree in international law and economics (MILE) from the World Trade Institute (WTI) in Berne. Her master’s thesis at both institutions concerned the exhaustion of intellectual property rights and compulsory licensing in developing countries.
She also holds a master’s degree in Commerce from the Kyrgyz National University and various diplomas and certificates in international trade and intellectual property. Before joining the MILE at the WTI she worked for the State Agency of Intellectual Property in the Kyrgyz Republic where she dealt with various issues covering both domestic and international legislation on intellectual property.
In addition, she did some consultancy work for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) regarding their training courses.
