Portrait Benno Ferrarini (phd econ) studied economics in Italy and the UK. His main focus of research is on international finance, trade and development economics. Before taking up his current position as senior research fellow, he was director of economic research (2003/05) of the World Trade Institute, and had formerly worked with several research institutes based in London. He has edited and authored a number of books and articles in the field of international economics, as well as contributing backgrund papers to World Bank and UN reports. He has been a member of the MILE faculty since 2002; his teaching interests include microeconomics, econometrics and international economics.
