ProDoc Thematic Module - Natural Resource Governance

WTI/NCCR Trade Doctoral Fellows Hojjat Khademi, Victor Saco and Fitzgerald Temmerman attend the International Graduate School (IGS)/NCCR North-South ProDoc Training Module 'Natural Resource Governance'.

Each day of the training module begins with a theoretical input led by main lecturer Stephan Rist of CDE. The rest of the day is supervised by one or two experts and consists of input presentations, exercises, and discussions.

The module integrates an overview of the main theoretical discourses regarding governance of natural resources. This part is supported by Art Dewulf, Assistant Professor at Wageningen University, and by Patrick Bottazzi, a post-doctoral researcher at CDE.

The theoretical discourses are combined with three specific thematic blocks related to (1) governance of food and agriculture, (2) governance of land and water, and (3) governance of climate change in drylands.

The link between theoretical and specific thematic blocks is organised so as to enable the participating PhD students to orient their own work towards the theoretical and specific thematic inputs.
